I have an older Blackberry with the USB connector broken. I am switching to a new 7290, but cannot backup the old unit with Desktop Manager because of the broken USB Connector. Is there some way to transfer my inbox and sent items from MS Outlook to my 7290? It tried using the Reconcile Messages in Desktop Manager Intelisync, but no messages came across. My Inbox is on the 2003 Exchange server at my office. I tried to copy my inbox to a personal folder on my PC, but still nothing. Any idea why this did not work or how to get my old email to the new Blackberry?
ahhh.. this may sound dumb.. probably it is... I'm sick today.. so pardon me..
If your old BB still runs and still can send emails... can you not forward all your emails to your new 7290 email addy? and open and save them like that?
ronw -- When you say you set up a personal folder, do you mean you created a separate PST file? If so, did you configure desktop manager to sync the personal folder by selecting it in the redirector? It won't sync automatically like a subfolder to your Inbox. You have to choose the folder and then sync through usb wire (not wirelessly).
Dawg -- I thought this method worked for getting old emails onto a new BB. Am I mistaken? If so, can't his BB Admin help him with this?
In answer to jontalotta, yes I did select "Archive Folders" in Personel Folder under Configure reconcillation after I copied the Inbox to the Archive Folders in Outlook. It did not get my email on to the Blackberry. From what the others have said, I guess I am just stuck. Guess I can keep the old Blackberry with the email still on it and use the new one from here on out. Resending to myself would make all the old email look like they are from me, and that would not help. Really supprised that there is not some way to export the inbox from Outlook and Import it into the Blackberry with the Restore option. That was what I was hoping to find how to do.
