Default Removed battery from my blackberry now wont completely boot up??

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 8900 from T-Mobile. It has been working pretty good for 6 months.

Last night I just shut off my phone. Took out the battery. Waited a few minutes then reinstalled the battery. (Done this procedure numerous times in the past).

Now the phone wont boot up. I just see the clock spinning clockwise for hours. It just continuously displays the clock and just stays at this screen until the battery goes dead since the LCD display is lit nonstop.

I am appalled at this since my BB8900 was working completely fine before I took out the battery and reinstalled it.

What can I do to fix my BB900?

I would try another battery pull, only for 5 or 10 seconds. Just long enough to force a restart. Maybe restarting without the memory card as well if another simple battery pull yields no joy.

After that, it sounds like a case for the OS reinstall.

VZW made me re-install the program after I pulled my battery.

Yeah I tried plenty of battery pulls. Last night I left the battery out for 3 hours then in the middle of the night put in the battery, woke up the phone was off because the LCD was lit up and drained the battery since the phone was in continuous boot. :(

I have not removed the memory card and tried to boot without it.

A simple OS reinstall should fix this? Will I keep all my settings and such?

You will keep you settings, but not your third-party apps. You'll probably have to reinstall them and re-register, so make a list of your activation keys for anything you've bought. Just be sure to do a backup before the reinstall. You should be prompted to do this by the Desktop Manager software by default, but watch for it anyway and make sure it happens.

I removed the memory card and did a quick reboot. did not help.

I'm at work now so I will try to reinstall the OS when I get home. I upgraded my OS a few months ago to 4.6.1.206. Would I still have this version on my computer since I downloaded it on the BB website? Or do I have to download an OS again? I rather keep this one since I have had no issues with it.

It feels weird not having a working cell phone. Gonna be a long day at work.

You should still have the OS on your PC at home. Your PC may not recognize the device. If not, don't be alarmed, that's typical. If that's the case, follow these steps:
What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe - BlackBerryFAQ

It may take multiple attempts before it connects, just be patient and you should be alright.

Best of luck.

Thank you for your help as well.

So I am trying to install a fresh new OS.

Seems like I am getting a communication error or some sort.

I double lick on "loader.exe" I then select what applications/languages I want.

Then I go to "next" and get this:

"A fatal error has occurred while updating your device's software. Pleae try again.

Device communications error enountered"

How do I load this software when my phone does not want to get out of the boot screen (spinning clock).

Can anyone help?

Reboot the PC and the device and try again. Also make sure you're connecting the device directly to a USB port on the rear of the PC, not a USB hub.

Reinstalling the software worked.

The trick was to install the OS quickly BEFORE the rotating clock bootup screen came up.

Thanks for everyones help.
