Question Multiple contact records for each new contact number?

Please Login to Remove!

I am a new Blackberry user and have spent ages and ages trying to resolve a problem I think I have created when sync-ing my device with my Outlook contacts.

In Outlook I have multiple phone numbers per contact but when I have sync-ed with my Blackberry I now have 1 records for each phone number rather than 1 record for each contact with the option to use differnet numbers. This doesn't seem right to me.

For example in Outlook I have
John Smith
Home Number - xxxxxx
Work Number - xxxxxx
Mobile Number - xxxxx

In my Blackberry I have

John Smith 1
John Smith 2
John Smith 3

Can anyone help?

you address book in the BB is set up to have those exact feilds. I would try deleting the contact in Outlook and putting contact info in the BB filling in those feilds, then re-sync.

Yep... been there done that years ago in my first Outlook sync.

You probably (could be) have imported your SIM Card to BlackBerry, as well?

My advice.. get Outlook correct, everything in Outlook should be to your liking.

Then once you are satisfied that Outlook is correct, completely delete the BlackBerry Address book database and resync to Outlook.
