Blackberry's "Don't Forward" Filters Not Working...

I have been searching forms for a reply to help with Blackberry filters not working. I found several things that didnít help at all. But once I started looking into this on my own I figured out how to make my filters work. Here is what I did.

Using the Black Berry Desktop Manager click the Email Settings. This will open up the settings window. From there click the Filters tab. The first 3 filters come default and look like this:

Name.........................................Action
To & BCC Defalut.........................Forward
General......................................Forwa rd
CC Defalut..................................Forward

When you add a new filter it adds it to the bottom of the list and you will have something like this:

Name.........................................Action
To & BCC Defalut.........................Forward
General......................................Forwa rd
CC Defalut..................................Forward
New Filter...............................Don't Forward

Now with the first 3 filters enabled you will always be sending email to your handheld no matter how your new filter is set up. Once you create your new filter, select it and use the arrows on the side to move you new filter to the top of the list. It should look like this when your done:

Name.........................................Action
New Filter...............................Don't Forward
To & BCC Defalut.........................Forward
General......................................Forwa rd
CC Defalut..................................Forward

Hope this helps..

What exactly does moving the new filter to the top of the list accomplish? The filters still forward (or don't forward) if you don't actually change the filters.

Note that this only applies to BES. BIS filters must be modified via your carrier's BIS site.

The filters have a priority starting at the top. So with the default filters enabled and listed first, they will always filter. By moving your new filter to the top it processes it first, then moves down the list.
