Default Help With Blackberry Pearl

Please Login to Remove!

Can anyone help a new user of a Blackberry Pearl please !!

Have managed to get everything set up correctly (I think!).

When I view sent SMS messages via folders, I have other "inboxes" which have nothing in them, how do I delete these as I have one for emails but have random ones in there? Have tried searching to do this and not having any luck really, is this something no one has come across before?

Any replies appreciated, and also any useful tips for this phone to help me on my way.

Thanks people

what are these "random" boxes that are installed labeled? also, if it is a used bb pearl, you need to have the old user "clear" the pin from the BIS site (site where the user configures all pop, imap or web based email), or your going to have those inboxes..you can setup your own acct to get mail, but those boxes would still be there unless that pin is cleared. The old user can ask their carrier or old carrier for assistance with that. you may need to provide that old user with your pin that way they can get that done for you though. you can find pin by going to settings-options-status or options-status.

When you add an email account to your Pearl you get an individual mailbox for that account. You also have a main Messages folder that gets everything. So a new email will show up in 2 places. Most folks hide the individual mailboxes (you can't delete them) and use the Messages folder only. At least that's what I do.

Use the Menu key to display all your apps/mailboxes.
Then put the cursor over the individual mailbox you want to hide.
Use the Menu key again to select "Hide" and it's gone from your screen.

To get it back, use the Menu key to bring up the screen with all your apps/mailboxes
Then use it again to select "Show All".
Everything you hid will show up as a ghost image.
You can then roll the cursor over it to highlight, hit Menu again, and click on Hide (which should have a check mark in front of it.
Now hit the Menu key again and click on "Show All" to re-hide all those previously hidden apps that are showing up as ghost images.

yea like rambo says, those other inboxes are your actual email inboxes that correspond to however many emails that you have, if theres nothing in them, well, you havent recieved anything yet... if you highlight that inbox, itl tell you what it is... if its something you dont remember puting it on there I suggest contacting your carriers tech support for data/emai/internet on smartphones/pdas/bb's

I think the OP is referring to the individual email folders listed in the folders section, not on the apps screen (Message app, scroll to folders, select). Somehow I have 2 folders for each of my email accounts and I dont know how to reset/remove them either. The folders do not indicate which account each is for. Hiding the inactive icons is for the apps screen.

hook BB to pc
open dekstop manager
backup/restore
advanced
on right, highlight FOLDERS entry, then click clear.

This clears the email inboxes under View Folders
It will not affect you getting email (i.e. if the inobx folder is gone in that view, you cant get email; thats not the case)
and the inbox for the only email you have will eventually show up again in the view folders view when resend service books or battery pull is done.
