Default BIS and BES Questions

Please Login to Remove!

I am going back to my curve after a year on an iphone.

I am now on an exchange account through Sherweb for my work email and will be adding BB support to it when I make the switch.

Question is... will I still need the BIS account to get personal email via gmail?

Thanks!

I am on the Rogers network up here in Canada.

I am not totally clear on what you are asking but if your work is putting you on BES it comes with BIS for up to 10 personal accounts. If they are not putting you on BES then you will need BIS in order to receive your email.

Hope that helps!

Wirelessly posted

You can have both. The only way you can't is if the BES IT policy at your company doesn't allow it. 1 BES and 10 BIS allowed per device.

In addition, If your BES prevents an integrated BIS/Gmail set up, you can always use the Gmail client.

If BES is set up to restrict access to BIS, then there's a good chance that it's also restricted for third-party apps as well.

Yes, that's possible. I have a BES device where BIS is not available--I use the Gmail
app on it. It's worth a try.
