Default Anything new on Zimbra Desktop?

Please Login to Remove!

For openers, I have searched the forums and I can only find threads related to Zimbra server and BES.

I am actually trying to setup the Zimbra Desktop as an Outlook replacement but I am only on BIS. Zimbra does not appear in the DM sync "Select Desktop Application" dialog box.

DM ver 5.0.0.11

Any movement on this?

Probably should ask Research in Motion - [email address]

Not sure how many people have actually used (or heard of) Zimbra.

I am really trying not to take this as a slight, because if it is then perhaps you should come out of retirement.

Should have I asked this question in the BES Admin corner even though it refers to the desktop application and I am on BIS?

I'm doing just fine where I am.

Don't be offended. No one in the BES Admin Corner will have any information on Zimbra either. Since zero other people responded, I am not sure what you expect to get...

Yeh, I've never heard of it.

I don't think it's on RIM's radar. I never heard of it until I Googled it. I think all 8 of you who use it should ask Zimbra what THEY'RE doing to address this issue with BES.

Ok, I am not offended.

But if you search the BES Admin Corner Forum there are more than just 8 () matches.

Now hopefully you will not be offended but if you have not heard of Zimbra then you likely don't hang out much in the open source community, which is totally ok, neither do I frankly.

One interesting note however... two of the three posters that replied have rather "grumpy" avatars.

You are correct, I do not hang out in the open source community.

Since it is open source, you should definitely contact the Zimbra development community to see if anyone there is working on a connector.

RIM seems to pay much more attention to the commercial world. Actually, to the Windows commercial world.
