Default Question about BES and swapping Devices

Please Login to Remove!

Hello
I work for a Mobile provider and as such get a range of devices to try from RIM

We use Blackberry BES and I'm aware of how to upgrade the OS on a RIM handheld and the fact that I dont need to request a new BB activation after upgarding the OS IF I do the upgrade whilst connected to the corporate network via my laptop

I was just wondering if I could use the feature in Desktop manager to swap devices without having to request a new BES activation.

Does anyone know?

Thanks

When I swapped devices I had to have my admin activate my new phone the server activation didn't carry over to my new device.

Probably, yes, but it kinda depends on how your BES is configured.
For example, if Enterprise Service Policy is enabled, then you may need your BES admins to make the necessary adjustments to allow your new device to activate.

Best to just check with them beforehand.
