While connected to the Pc your computer sees it as a storage device. It is listed under the My Computer tab so you can view the contents of your memory card (while mass storage mode) is enabled. Or you can view the folder within the phone under your program files. It won't see it as a configurable camara or video camara. So short answer would be no I guess.

supposedly Mobiola sells software to do this, but I've not heard any reviews. There's a free trial though.

I tried one of these about a year ago. It was pretty buggy but was cool when it did work. The interesting thing is it showed the device screen momentarily on startup, so theoretically it could have been possible to view the device screen on the PC. What it was doing was showing the screen and turning on the video camera.

One big problem was it was nowhere near smooth enough to act as a webcam. It'd be better to just buy a cheap one than try to use a bb which has to be leaned against something to shoot. Maybe that's changed now. Plus that other app was somewhere around $60 back then.

I do wish they would have just developed some app that could view the screen and then maybe control it some.

This is the program I had demo'd before. It's 100x better now. It uses the camera, not the video cam as I had thought. But that makes sense since some OS versions don't have the video cam.

But if you look at the phone what it's doing is pulling up the menu and highlighting "View Pictures" every half second or so. I wonder if it's trying to pick "Full Screen" instead. Since it shows the whole screen, the picture has the same box around it as if you're taking a picture unless it's set to full screen ahead of time.

It worked with Yahoo Messenger, and is still a little jerky. But much better than before. It now connects over wifi as well as USB, which is a pretty nice feature. Price is now $19.95. And they also have a separate screen capture program which seems to also act as a webcam, so that may be a better option.

Edit: The screen capture version seems more useful, but the video did not seem to work. I tried streaming video and it will only update the picture when you do something like hit a key. It even will send a slingbox picture (even over Yahoo IM), but not video. This was one of the bugs I remember from before.

One more edit. The screen capture version cause my phone to completely erase. It went to a white screen with some tiny writing on it, with some kind of status bar that went all the way. Then red led and black screen. Finally started up again and it's like I just updated the OS. 3rd party apps are there, but no data.
