Default Level one notification and profile exceptions.

Please Login to Remove!

I had the filters and profiles working on my 8830 and have upgraded to a new tour.

First I am no longer getting my message filters to forward as a level 1.
I have the correct Sender.
I have tried with and without specific destination.
I have tried with and without previous subject filters.
I have removed /installed BB desktop manager and removed all filters.
I created a test filter from scratch.
I do have it set to forward as level 1 notification.

Is there anything else I can try to get the forward to work?

Second issue is more a knowledge issue on my part I think.
I used to have the ability to set up a profile and exceptions.

I.E. Use current profile except if message/call comes in from User X; if so use Profile X settings.

I used this to get special alerts when I was on vibrate only, except SMS pages from critical systems. This in conjunction with the filters allowed me to replace my 24/7 pager. Right now I am not able to get the same functionality, am I missing something or will I need to adjust my logic to get the same functionality?

Profiles are very different in the Tour compared to your 8830.
I would suggest playing around with them some more, paying close attention to all the settings.
My guess is that they're simply set incorrectly based on your needs.

Not sure its a bug or my version; but I found part of the issue.
Using desktop manager 5.0b028 and tour app version 4.7.1.42(84); the filters are kinda fubar when creating from the device.
On the device after selecting the name, the filter shows the friendly name. when I create it on the desktop it leaves the full address in the from field. If the friendly name is in place(from contacts) it doesn't work. If I select the contact from the desktop manager it places the email address in the field. One problem down, next is to figure out how to use exceptions or adjust my process for pages sent to my BB.

4.7.1.42 hasn't been released by any carriers. That's basically a beta version of the OS.
Hard to troubleshoot when you're not running a stable OS.
