Default Unlocked Bold Data Services not working

Please Login to Remove!

Unlocked an NTT DoCoMo issued Bold 9000.

Inserted AT&T SIM with BB account activated.

Voice works.

Created AT&T BIS account and switched the PIN over to DoCoMo Bold.

Created e-mail addresses and sent service books.

Service books don't arrive and mail can't be used.

Any ideas?

Have you gone into Host Routing Table and registered with the network? Sometimes it doesn't happen automatically. Also try logging back into DoCoMo's BIS page and re-entering your PIN/IMEI to make sure they have your BB associated with your data plan.

Great idea on the routing table.

Problem: the owner doesn't know how to log into his DoCoMo BIS account! (frustrating!)

Question: Should the PIN be registered with AT&T's BIS or DoCoMo's BIS? Right now it's registered with AT&Ts... That could be the problem?

If you want service from DoCoMo the PIN needs to be registered there.

Since he's moved here, I think he wants mainly AT&T service.

I think the problem is either that the PIN is still registered with DoCoMo, or the routing tables. We'll find out tomorrow!

As long as the device is registered at a carrier with an active BB account and has data service (even if that service is not the "native" carrier), BIS services should work on the device, right? (since it's actually RIM that runs BIS...)

Yes, registering with AT&T *should* get the user AT&T's data services. He might have to call DoCoMo to get the device removed from his old account, especially if he doesn't plan on canceling that DoCoMo account.

AT&T BIS just started working magically.

Unfortunately, DoCoMo BIS is still on, so he is getting double e-mails for a few accounts.

Problem is, he doesn't know how to get into his DoCoMo BIS settings...

Going to try putting the DoCoMo SIM back in the DoCoMo phone, then logging into Mail Settings via the phone...

Close...

Thanks for all the support and ideas!
