Default Problems (of my making) with 'Password Keeper'

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone - from the contents of this post you will realise I'm a bit of a dumbo......

In enthusiastically "setting-up" my new 'Curve 8900' I must have inadvertently 'password protected' the Password Keeper in Applications.

Trying now to access the facility, I am asked for a password.

Having tried 8 times (using various passwords that I regularly use on other password protected devices) my BB tells me I have only two chances left!

I'm reluctant now to guess any more in case the whole 'phone locks-up for ever - then I really would be stuck.

Is there any way or procedure open to me (or anyone else come to that) to enable access?

Thanks,
Canteloube.

Wirelessly posted (overwhelmingly stressed)

Is it the device password or password for password keeper?
If it is for the device it will wipe the device no way around it
If for password keeper it will wipe password keeper only and then allow you to set a new password

There is no way around the password. Type it wrong and the device wipes itself. Then you can start anew.

Sorry - I'm now confused with seemingly conflicting advice.

It is the password which gives access to the 'Password Keeper' (in 'Applications') which I have forgotten.

I have been unsuccessfully guessing eight times. I have, according to the device, two chances left.

Are you saying that that if I continue guessing incorrectly the 'Password Keeper' wipes itself, and then I can start anew?

By "wiping itself" you you mean the CONTENTS of the 'Keeper' is erased, or the facility itself?

Thanks..

The content is what will get wiped. The application will remain on your device, it will just be emptied of whatever you have stored in it.
