Default Please someone?? I cannot dial out on my phone?

Please Login to Remove!

I am a att/cingular customer i bought a new 8700g off ebay a month ago...it was Unlocked for all carriers but was branded TMOBILE

i got the phone, put my sim card in, called and told att i got the phone gave them my imei number and got blackberry service and the phone worked great for about a week and a half....

then out of no where it just 100% stoped finding service and started saying "no service found" or "searching for service"

ATT told me it has to be the device because my SIM card worked in any other phone i put it in.

So the guy who sold it to me had me send that one back and he sent me another one.

I just got it today, but the phone was locked.....so i bought a unlock code and it said Code Accepted and it now reads all info on my sim card.,but is now doing what the other one did and is saying "searching for signal" and "no serive found"

WHat the heck is going on???? Can anyone help? Why did the first one work then all of a sudden stop? and why will this one reconize my sim but wont find service??? Please someone?

Did you do any updates to it? I was told, if you get a phone unlocked and do an update, it locks up again or something like that...I am not 100% sure about this, but I notice no one was posting to you, so I figured, I'd at least tell you what I have heard....

This is completely wrong. Doing an update does not lock the phone again.

Completely, totally wrong. That's true for an iPhoney, but not for a BlackBerry.

Knightracin - the 8700 is a rather old BlackBerry. It is quite possible you got a broken one. That wouldn't be unheard of. The fact that it was replaced so quickly could indicate that.

Make sure the device is really unlocked. Then try popping the battery out and in.

Go into Options / Mobile Network and make sure the Network Selection Mode is set to Automatic.

If nothing works, get your money back.
