Default Takes forever to boot after installing Desktop Manager

Please Login to Remove!

I had my laptop at work re-imaged because it was taking forever to boot. All was good until today when I installed Desktop Manager. Now it's back to taking forever to boot. Is there some setting I can change to eliminate this delay. It went from 30 seconds to two and a half minutes.

Are you running vista? Cause I have vista home premium and when I installed DM, slowed my boot down a lot. I defragged the hard drive and the boot drive. Also did a disk cleanup. All should be good after that.

Do you have DM set to start up on computer start up? If so - turn that off.

Don't know what to tell you. I run XP Pro on 2 laptops and my home computer and DM doesn't affect them.

I think it's Roxio. I used to have the same problem so I never install the version with Roxio anymore.

I am on Vista and I use and have always used even on XP a program called Codestuff starter. You can select what programs run at start up. I have mine set to not run the DM at startup. If you are having issues you can try that. My computer boots up very fast around 20 seconds from when I hit the button till its good to go.

Yeah Roxio has a couple programs set at startup that will slow it down.

You have to uncheck that option when it's installed. The options are something like "check for updates" and "start desktop manager when my computer starts" and one other one.

If there's no option to change that in DM after it's installed you have to uninstall and reinstall it, or use some program that will remove it from the startup sequence.
