Talking Changing thr light color in keyboard

Please Login to Remove!

Someont told me it is possible to change the color of the backlight by the keyboard in a 7520. They said someone was able to make it a prpleish color and did it thru software. Does anyone know how to do this or is it really possible. Thanks

Software? Um, hell no. A few hours, a steady hand, new LEDs, and a soldering iron? Sure.

You could always replace the plexy/plastic piece between the circuit board and the keypad...but that's a task in itself.

7520 should have 2 LED's for the backlight...and because they are white, the voltage on them is about 5v....which means that you'd have to replace them with 5v LEDs...not that hard you say? Well, if you look into it, your only option is Blue. Red, green, yellow, orange all take 3.3-3.4v....blue and white take 5v.

I've managed to unsolder and solder on all 13 LEDs for a 7100t (it looks good in the dark with the blue keyboard) but man what a pain in the butt.

Haha.. I'm old school- I'm not a big mod, flashing antenna, fancy faceplate kind of guy. Andalthough i think this is a total waste of time, I also think it could be kind of cool to make your berry a little unique. haha.

Let us know how the mod goes! Post some pictures of the process, if you could.

And good luck.
