Default Viewing pictures on a BB8900

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
When viewing pictures on my BB8900 I have to go back a step to the gallery to view another picture. Is there a way once I have a picture in view, I can use the trackball to 'flick' between pictures. I have seen a video on CNET what showed a BB tour 9630 being used to view pictures in this way.
Thanks.

Once you have a picture open, try pressing N to go to the next picture, and P to go to the previous one.

On my Tour (I know, different OS, different device) I can use the trackball to scroll left and right to see the next/previous picture. Does this not work on the 8900 as well?

it doesnt work on the bold either.
(4.6 vs 4.6.1)

using N and P for next and previous works though.

The N and P, as well as the scrolling works in 5.0.

5.0 is not officially released. It is still in beta testing. If you want to install it, you will need to search for it. Google is your friend.

No word from RIM on this yet. And no telling which devices will get it when it's officially rolled out.

Most newer models will, but older models probably won't get 5.0. Some can't run it because of older internal architecture, while others are approaching "legacy device" status and simply no longer rate that kind of support and development from RIM. Those that do get OS 5.0 won't all do so at the same time.

Apparently it takes a fair amount of resources for RIM to write the OS for each device model. This is a significant change from OS 4.5/4.6/4.7 and involves a lot of work for each model BlackBerry. I have no idea how RIM will prioritize the rollout for OS 5.0. Newest model first? Hottest selling model first? Dunno.

As BIS 2.8 is rolling out/rolled out in some places, and some of the features require OS 5, expect it soon.
