Default sync no bes question

If I want to sync my email from outlook to a BB, will this work:
1. never pull down an email from the computer.
2. Always leave the messages on the server (I know the owner of the compnay hosting the mail server and he sugested this).
3. when I sit down at the computer I sync first then send whatever mail I need to from my computer then sync as mail comes in (I'll be notified by the BB that mail has come in), and sync before I leave to bring any sent emails from outlook.

The problem that comes to mind is attachments. How can I get attachments to my outlook if I don't ever download the actual mail to the computer? I use subfolders to sort mail and would like them on the BB as well. Can I specify a folder to not sync and then set a rule in outlook to route all mail there, then if I need the attachment I search that folder? I know BES is the way to go, but at this point that is too expnsive of an option for me, both the program it self and the remotly hosted via monthly fee option.

Thoughts?

Before I put my foot in to mouth... What model is your BlackBerry, and who cellular provider? Is the email you want to sync with your corporate email or internet based?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I'm not sure I understand why you would want to take this approach since push email is the major point of the Blackberry. Mail does not sync with your email client. Your BWC account can be set to poll a POP3 account but that mail will be pushed to your Blackberry after the polling takes place. You can also forward mail from your POP account to your BWC account and have it pushed without the polling delay. There is third party POP software but why not use the Blackberry as designed?

I do plan to use the Blackberry the way it is designed, in fact I expect to use it more than my desktop for email, I am just looking for a quick and dirty way to simulate a sync to the level of BES. I guess my real question is does intellisync sync specific subfolders in my inbox, or only contacts and the like. I would like to have my old (pre BB) emails synced into the blackberry. Then as I make changes, read and file emails on the blackberry, can I resync and have outlook reflect those changes. As outlook itself gets the mail I can have them via a rule dropped into a folder that is not synced and have access to whatever attachments I need there. Or am I simply asking too much from a Blackberry?
