Question Where is the BlackBerry Redirector?

Please Login to Remove!

I used to use Desktop Manager 4.7, and have Rediretor forwarding work emails for me. But after install Desktop Manager 5.0, I can't find the Redirector any more. I googled this topic, and some said it's in the C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry , but it's NOT there. Can somebody let me know where it is? Thanks.

I hate the way RIM do things. They never have good documentations, and never let user easily do a simple job.

And another question is, I'm working in a big company, and would like to have work emails on my personal BB Bold 9000. Is there a way to do that without BES and now Redirector?

Redirector.exe is most certainly there.
When you install Desktop Manager, you ave to tell it your are integrating with a Work (Enterprise) e-mil account.

Redirector.exe will be installed.
You must have a BES BlackBerry Data Plan on your account for Redirector to work.

Since this is my personal BB, I would like not to connect to a BES. I just have a AT&T BlackBerry data plan, I'm not sure if it's a "BES BB Data Plan". However, I used to be able to get my work emails, it only stops working after I update the DM to 5.0. Somebody said the .exe file is still in C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry , but it's not on my pc.

Thanks, NJBlackBerry. Yes, you are right. I finally find that I have to select it is integrating with BES or redirector to have the Redirector installed, otherwise it wouldn't.

Thanks a lot.

If your company allows POP or IMAP access that would be much better than using Redirector.

There is a reason it isn't included now - RIM has apparently stopped supporting it as it was really very buggy. Plus your PC must be on and connected 24/7 to get email.
