Default Curve 8900 Help

Please Login to Remove!

I just got my curve 8900. I bought it brand new off of ebay. I got it int he mail today and the batter was already inside the phone. I put my sim card in and it wont turn on. I figured its out of battery so i plug it in and it still wont turn on. So i let it sit there for a while. At first a red light turned on at the top right corner. then after that the screen showed a batter symbol with a lightning strike going through it. Its been like this for about an hour and it still isn't turning on. Do you guys know what i can do? this is my first blackberry.

Charge it for 3-4 hours.

The lightening bolt thru the battery means its charging, but the battery shouldnt already be inside the phone if it was new. I do a lot of trading on ebaY, but would never ever buy a phone on there. I got stung with a so called new phone a few years back.....put a stop on your paypal payment, and go get a phone from the usual sources....more money, but you're covered at least.

If its the large looks like an AA battery icon with a large bolt through it, it doesnt mean its charging.
The battery meter icon (i.e. the 5 bars in the left corner) with a smaller yellow lightening bolt ontop of it, means its charging.

Soz for any wrong info given. I was going by my 8310 which has the 5 strength bars top left, immediatelt followed by an upright battery icon. When on charge, there is a red lightening bolt through the battery (like a small "Z"). Presumably they have changed the icons etc if what you say is correct.
cheers
Bill

No, what I meant was, the large battery icon on a screen that is nothing but white and the device wont turn on, doesnt show that its charging, it shows that there is no battery.
Or rather the battery isn't connecting correctly.

The seller owes you a new battery and a big apology.
