im sorry if this is in the wrong section, but i need some quick help. i currently have the sidekick lx from tmobile and the servive sidekicks have een providing lately suck. i wanna upgrade to the blackberry 8900, but doing it through tmobile is rather pricey. i was wondering if i buy the phone itself from ebay or something, if i call tmobile and tell them to change my data plan to a blackberry one, would it work? or do i have no choice other than upgrading directly through tmobile?

Incredible how the Danger/MS servers for SideKick crashed catastrophically and they had no backup! The mind boggles. I'd be shocked if ANYone stayed with SideKicks after this fiasco.

BlackBerry is an awesome alternative, and T-Mobile should be thrilled if you want to stay with them at all. I'd imagine they would make a transition to another device as painless as they possibly can.
