How do I stop my bb from logging my sent SMS, or is there a way to delete them as I delete conversations with that person

it stores everything I have sent. I can delete the received messages as they come but when another message from the person comes, everything I sent them shows back up. There doesnt seem to be an easy way to purger them all at once

Sure there is.... Message folder>Alt +S>On the date line>Menu>Delete prior.

If you are trying to delete messages for that "one" special person.... highlight message from special person and hit menu>Search Sender>Shift + Scroll (highlight all of them and then hit delete key.

It's easier to just not send messages that you don't want other people to see. Either that or just lock the device...

thank you reverend "thatzmister2u" for the advice on not sending messages that I don't want people to see. I never mentioned a "special person" It's more of an OCD thing that I can't stand having a ton of messages in there or when I am done with a conversation I don't feel the need to keep it in there.

so i've inherited a bes box with 57 users. We have zero policies in place and the box was pretty much running as it was when it was fired up. I am logging at least the 17 logs that i've been able to find in the maintenance guide. I have two questions. Where can I find a very good description on what each of these logs actually captures. I know some are self explanatory and others not so much... Secondly Juwaack68 you indicate that SMS are logged and that I should be able to retrieve. Hence my being appointed to this nightmare of a server...As stated before, I have 17 logs in my "logs" folder. Each has a lot of bes info and transaction id's associated with them. Where can I go to see these transactions? Do they exist? AND where and how can I extract the sms msg's...I've poured over the manuals today and this is time sensitive so I'd appreciate any help. Plus side....found this forum!!

Thanks in advance for your help if you'd like to advise off list be happy to share my email. Thanks again

Check the link in my signature for "BES Logs; what's in them?".

Very, very good resource.

It would probably be easier just to hit Alt-O and periodically delete all outgoing messages if it's an OCD thing. I mean, why stop at cleaning up just SMS?
