I have been a very basic BB user for the last year or so but I just came across an icon that i have never seen before.

I have aN 8330 Curve. My roommate just got a new BB Tour and whenever she sends me an SMS/text my phone behaves differently.

First, When I get the message my notification sound is different than it is with other texts.

Secondly, the icon next to the text message is the same blue evelope but it has a grey circle with a red arrow inside of it.

Third, I cannot read the text she has sent me. all the general message details are there but the message field itself is filled with code of some sort:

"Content-Type: text/plain
name=1256873782828.plain
charset=utf-8"

and thats all it says. all 3 message she has sent me have been like this.

I have been searching for an hour trying to find an answer but have had no luck. Anyone have an idea?

Is your roommate doing 'Compose SMS' or 'Compose MMS'. Are you able to send any text messages to your roommate, and can he/she open and read them?

it looks like she was responding to a MMS that I had previously sent her. If she composes a new SMS and sends it we have no issues.
