I have no idea what happened to my 8330, but I don't have insurance and I'm out of warranty so I hoped that if someone had any clue to what was going on, I could decide how to proceed.

All of a sudden, when I'd click to select with the trackball, it was like I was inputting Q or * instead. When I'd type a, it would type qa. The back button and the end button are both sticking. The selecting problem itself obviously made the blackberry unusable for practically anything but making calls, although even that's tough if the physical keys aren't associating correctly.

The crazy thing is that sometimes this goes away for a few minutes or yesterday it went away for the entire day. When it works, the trackball works and the keyboard is fine, it's just the back and end keys that stick. I have no idea what brings it on or fixes it because yesterday it was working after having it off and charging it, but last night I left it on and it started happening again. I pulled the battery this morning and restarted it and it was still happening.

I would very, very much appreciate any insight on this issue. I really can't afford a new phone or costly repairs, but I badly still need full functionality of my blackberry.

Did I put this in the wrong place? Can someone guide me here?

You need to be patient for your answers.

It sounds like moisture damage on/in the keyboard.

Has the device been exposed to ANY moisture? Even a little bit?

Sweaty pocket? Steamy bathroom? Wet hands? Wet hair? Dew? High humidity environment?

Try a battery pull with the device turned on and see if it clears it. If not, it's likely damaged hardware and hopefully you have insurance. :(

Thank you for your response! I definitely don't mind waiting for answers, but I was concerned I'd put this in the wrong place. I did bring the phone into the bathroom and it's very damp and cold where I am. Could this have done it? It seems when I pull the battery/charge, it helps, but then it'll come back again. I've thought about taking it to get repaired, but I'm not sure if this is a repair that would be astronomical or not because I unfortunately don't have insurance.
