Default Desktop redirector

Please Login to Remove!

'Disable email redirection while your handheld is connected check box. To receive messages on your handheld while it is connected to your computer, clear the check box.'

I am running the desktop redirector in order to receive my corporate emails.

In the case of being away from the office (and leaving the computer on), it works perfectly. However, when the BB is connected to my computer, any new emails are placed in the 'filter' section - which is correct, in the sense that I've checked the Disable when connected check box.

However - my problems are:

1. These 'new' emails are not syncronised on my BB via the 'cable';
1.1. which means that I've got huge chunks of emails not on my BB which I may need to access while on the move;

2. IF I uncheck this Disable while connected check-box while it is connected - my question is: does it redirect the mail on the wireless network (which WILL use up my MB allowance) or does it actually 'sense' that I'm connected to the computer via cable and actually redirect such e-mails OFF the wireless network?

Thanks very much for your help - MUCH appreciated!

-Mark

1. E-mail never gets synchronized. Never. So that's correct; if you choose not to have the e-mail sent when it is connected, you will not ever get it to the BB.

2. E-Mail is sent over the air, whether your BB is connected to the desktop or not. Desktop Redirector has no sense.

So, short of 'wasting' my precious megabyte allowances, there is no workaround right?

In other words, the only 'manual' workaround is to forward 'useful' emails manually to my internet email account (the personal account linked to the BB).

Thanks.

Or get a plan that matches how much data you are going to use.
