how do i download the pics off my BB to the computer using the BB desktop manager or do you do it a different way?

Best way is to connect it via USB and treat it like a removable storage device. It should mount like any USB thumb drive. Navigate to the location of your pics, then drag and drop to where ever you want 'em on your pc.

You have to enable mass storage mode in Options > Memory.

Either the above method or use a card reader to extract pics, etc.
I use a card reader so I don't have to avoid using my phone while I transfer files.
