Hi Guys,

I'm in the uk on o2 and since saturday I noticed that my gmail app stopped working. Now if I click refresh in it it comes up with the message: This program requires a working data connection, please check your signal strength

Also now twitter doesn't work - it comes up with the message: Network Request Failed

If I try and use appworld I get: Upgrade your service to a plan that includes browsing and discover a world of possibilities at Blackberry App world. Contact your service provider for more details.

That last upgrade I think I did was upgrade my appworld but I'm not sure if that's when these problems started.

Everything else works, I can make and receive calls, I think my BIS is working, i.e. i'm getting emails through, I can use my browser, I get text messages etc although i'm not sure if my bbm is working so i'm going to try that now.

Is anyone else having similar problems? I've tried speaking to o2 but they don't have a clue. Should I try and get in touch with RIM? Any help and suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Firstly, people have been having problems. There are threads here about it.
Secondly, try talking to TECHNICAL support at O2 NOT customer services. Customers services know nothing about the phones or the network, especially blackberries.

Do I take that to mean that this isn't a problem with my handset and many other people are getting similar issues?

call customers services on the regular number, and if there isnt an option to press a number for technical support, ask to be put through to them.
