But I have done some more research, and found out the reasons behind these random numbers... I feel like a member of the Lost cast having no idea, lots of numbers and no one helping me!! Oh well.... Looks like Im clever enough to find out these things on my own then!! Woo.... roll on the phone which.... have I mentioned... ARRIVES TODAY!! I hope I like Blackberries!!! =o)

Let me get this straight. You posted at 5:30AM (East Coast US) and replied back less than an hour later because no one replied. At 6AM in the US, where most of the forum members are from.

The BlackBerry.com web site has a comparison page. Drag the devices in the to page and it will compare them.

Here's a summary (you seem to be in a hurry):

9530 - Storm - CDMA and GSM - primarily sold in the US
9550 - Storm 2 - CDMA and GSM

9500 - Storm - quad band GSM
9520 - Storm 2 - quad band GSM

Two different models (Storm and Storm 2); two different mobile frequencies (CDMA/GSM and GSM only). The Storm 2 models also have WiFi, which the original Storm does not.

I encourage you to explore blackberry.com where there is lots of information to be found.

Always give at least a day for replies on any discussion forum site. It's not like people are sitting and waiting for new threads to pop up.

And it's not like this was some earth-shattering question either.

I am certain that the only way the device has significant differences is when the second number in the model number is different

so 8330 is different from 8900 but not much different from 8320

And that would be so very wrong.

8320 - Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE with Wifi and UMA for some carriers
8330 - CDMA; no WiFi

The similarities are that they look the same.
Not significantly different? Sorry, I dsiagree.

I am new to this thing and I was just worried I may have ordered the wrong phone.... easy thing to get a big panicy about, and I wasnt getting in a stress with anyone, just wanted to find out, and couldnt, but then found it for myself!!! Yay =o)

Not to hijack the thread or anything but I heard the storm to was going to be its own mifi unit. Anyone else heard this? And you would be the first person I have seen with one already so if it does have mifi I am curious as to how good it is.
