Stolen Blackberry...what now?
My blackberry was stolen 3 days ago...I called my carrier and had the phone service shut off. I also got a replacement card, which they gave me a new SIM card for...the person at T-Moblie told me that once they activated my new SIM card, that the old one would be wiped out. Is this true? Also, should I contact Blackberry with my PIN#? Will they be able to deactivate the blackberry so it cannot be used? Sorry for all the questions, but I am at a loss...all of my email/contacts/photos are out there...
Next time, I will definitely utilize the password...
No, RIM won't do anything, Tmobile might, but if i recall correctly in the US, they won't.
Obviously you should report to the police and ask Tmo to suspend the PIN.
But if they do suspend the pin, all that does is inconvenience and screw the innocent buyer on eBay.
I think the only way to wipe the device remotely is through the user not being able to login with the password
are you on BES?
