Smile Converting Blackberry contacts into a CSV file

Please Login to Remove!

Open up a Yahoo account if you don't already have one (it is free). Open up desktop manager, connect to your Blackberry and double click on "Synchronize." Go to the "Configuration" tab, and click on "Configure synch." Click on "Address Book" and then the "Choose" button. Select "Yahoo" and "Export," then back to the main Syncrhonize window. Click the "Syncrhonize" tab, make sure "Syncrhonize Organizer Data" is on, then press "Synchronize now." Now go to address. yahoo. com. In the upper right corner, click "Import/Export." Under Export, click the button next to "Microsoft Outlook," and save the file. Now open up Windows Contacts, click the "Import" button, choose "CSV (Comma Separated Values)," and click Import. Find the CSV file that you saved from Yahoo, and there ya go. You're all set.

Hope this saved some people a headache.

Or you can do the same thing from MS Outlook. Just sync and export.

True but Windows 7 does not have MS Outlook and people have been looking for a way to export their contacts from their BB to their mail programs, Windows Live Mail in the case of Windows 7.

I was able to do this. I setup the synch on the blackberry device manager to synch from the device to the mail program. I chose Outlook though Win 7 doesn't have it. I run the synch and the contacts get dumped into a contact folders under the user folder. I then did an import in live mail. Import to "address book for current windows user."

Yup that works also, Thank You for that!!!

Most people wouldn't even try to select to export to a program that they don't have on their system and the manager does do some pretty flaky stuff as we are finding out!!!

Or just sync with the ASCII Importer/Exporter in Desktop Manager.
