I downloaded V5 for my Storm last night (it's great) and CNN's Moble application will no longer run. I get the following message: "the protocol specified is not supported by the handheld". I tried removing and reinstalling the appl and get the same error. Any suggestions?

The same issue occurred with me when I downloaded v5.0.0.328. All other thrid party apps worked as usual except CNN. I contacted VerizonWireless support and was told they do not support thrid party apps. Went into a store and the tech said it was a device issue and replaced my Storm. Downloaded all my apps again, but CNN still does not work. Get the same protocol message. However, you can access the CNN mobile site manually by typing the address into the browser. Not much on the web re this issue.

I think this is a problem with some Web Shortcuts and OS 5.0

The web shortcut for BBF's WAP site gives the same error to me, but some of them work.

Something changed with the OS that broke the short cuts.

With Opera Mini (both 4.2 and the 5.0 beta) I had to change communication from Socket to HTTP. I don't pretend to know why, but it seems evident that RIM changed something in how apps access the internet.
