Default BB 8300: Auto Lock - 11-05-2009, 05:12 AM

Hi BB Experts,

I have BB 8300 and I want to know how I can lock my keyboard automatically without using any password.
I did try with Setting --> Option-->Security options-->General Setting.
Password: Disabled
Secutiry time out: 1 mint
Lock Handheld upon Holstering: Yes

With above setting it did not work...can any one suggest the correct way.

Thx
Yogi

You need a third-party application for that.

Check out Stinsonddog's Tips using the link in my sig block.

On the 8300 I think you can hit the mute button when you are not on a call and the keypad will lock.

The application I was thinking of is called AutoStandby.

Yes, you press and hold the Mute button.

IIRC it won't autolock unless you're holstering it (what the last option refers to).

I'd recommend that everyone have a password unless you like to share your data.
