Default Blackberry number blocking query

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I have recently been made redundant from my job. As part of my redundancy i was allowed to keep my blackberry for my notice period (3 months).

I received an email today from my former company, asking for it back, as they want the person who has replaced me to use that blackberry.

I have no issues with returning it, however i do not want that person to use my number.

Is there any way i can block my number, so that the number is not useable by anyone else, even by myself.

Any advice would be appreciated.

The phone number associated with the BB? Is it your wireless account or the company's? You can't do anything if it's the latter as it wouldn't be your number.

yes it is the phone number associated with the blackberry. It is the company account.

If i was to destroy the SIM would that help. OR will the company be able to get a new SIM with the same number?

Phone number is attached to the SIM.
Keep the SIM, you keep the number.
However, its the company's account; you should ask if they want the SIM back with it.
If they don't, keep it.

If the phone number belong to the company theirs nothing you can do. Even if you don't return the SIM they can have the number assigned to a new SIM.
