Question RE - Clearing a PIN from BIS so someone else can use a Blackberry?? - 11-06-2009, 07:16 PM

I want to make sure I did this correctly so when I sell my Bold, no one has to go through the trouble of the PIN and IMEI being used already.

I got a new Blackberry today on a different carrier and have decided to sell my Blackberry Bold. I have read in the forums that some people tend to buy a Blackberry and have an issue with trying to activate it in BIS (please make sure I am right on target with that) and because of this they cannot utilize BIS.

So one can assume to correct this issue, you need to use the BIS account that your Blackberry's PIN is registered under, and you need to do a change device and input another PIN and IMEI and if the system accepts it and the new PIN is reflected in BIS that the other Blackberry is thus free and clear for another user to setup the Blackberry in BIS.

Do I have a correct understanding of how to free the PIN so another user can use it, or did I miss something.

Any advice or information is appreciated!

The line above means that you need to have your old carrier delete your BIS account and you need to create a new BIS account with the new carrier.
