I have just purchased a Curve 8330, which accesses emails from Webmail (Zimbra). I manage my webmail through Outlook Express 6.
I have noticed that it seems like the Bberry and Outlook are unable to sync mail. I can sync the address book without a problem, but not the mail.
So, if I delete an email form my Bberry (Mailbox and Server) it deletes from Webmail as well, but stays in my Outlook; if I open an email on my Bberry, it shows open on Webmail, but not on Outlook.
Conversely, if I open something on Webmail, it does not show open on Bberry OR Outlook, and if I delete something on Webmail, it stays on my Bberry.
If I try anything on Outlook, nothing happens on Bberry or Webmail.
Can anyone tell me how to make sure that - when I erase/open something in Bberry or Outlook, the other device reflects the change?

Thank you. I noticed your post after I reposted.
I have a follow up question: if it's a problem with Blackberry and Zimbra, why does it do certain things from the Berry to Zimbra (for example: when I erase or read it shows on Zimbra) but not the other way around? And why do some people report having new-found problems with their BBerry and Outlook (which makes me assume that they used to be able to access it properly)?

BIS is not 2way sync.
Its nothing to do with your email provider, BIS just doesnt do what you're expecting it to do.

I suspect that webmail in your case is a view of what's on the server. As for Outlook -- the BB doesn't interact with your Outlook and doesn't even know that it exists (from an email standpoint) so it's not going to reconcile* with Outlook at all.

For what you want, you need Outlook to connect to an account where email is stored on the server (like Exchange, for example). Your current Outlook setup keeps a copy of email on your PC so it's impossible to have any form of reconciliation with Outlook with this setup.

I'm not sure if an IMAP account will be any sort of improvement for you. I don't use BIS and from what I hear, BIS doesn't support IMAP fully.

* BB's don't sync email. They push and, in some cases, reconcile.

Your question is really too vague. Again, Outlook supports a number of different types of email accounts. Off the top of my head I can think of Exchange, IMAP, POP, and even gmail. You'd have to frame your question with reference to a specific setup as each type of email account can behave quite differently and have its own set of potential issues. Just saying "Outlook" doesn't mean much. Outlook is just an email client. It's only one piece of the whole picture.
