Default Blackberry bold 9000 on a iphone data plan

Hey guys, I'm new in the blackberry forum and i need some help from you guys. I'm a fido user, and i use an iphone data plan. Recently, my iphone 3G broke and I stopped using it. I didn't want to replace it with another iphone though, so I decided that blackberry would be a good choice. A few days ago, i purchased the new WHITE blackberry bold 9000. It's locked to rogers and i'm planning to get it unlocked. However, the only blackberry device fido supports is the blackberry pearl, and they don't have a good plan for BBs. On top of that, I have a contract with the iphone data plan, and for me to cancel it, I would have to pay $200 as a penalty. My question is, can I still use the iphone data plan on my BB? it would be a waste of my data if i don't get to use it. I've seen a lot of threads talking about iphones on a bbplan, but not bbs on an iphone plan. Can anyone out there help me?

No, it won't work on the iphone plan.

That's why it is called THE Blackberry Data Plan.

What does that have to do with using a BlackBerry with an iPhone plan?

You will probably have limited Internet access, but no email and no BB Browser support. See the link that takeshi posted and read the section on "Generic Data Plan". That is most likely what you will have.

The iPhone Plan is a separate animal. I used to switch off between my BlackBerry Bold and several Nokia phones, and the BB data plan gave me full data access on the Nokias. The iPhone plan, however, doesn't work like that. To swap between the two you need to call AT&T each time and switch plans. I hear that this is being changed, at least for iPhones and non-BlackBerry phones, but I have not heard of plans for a seamless swapping between BB and Cupertino's Miracle.
