Default 8900 back up problems

Please Login to Remove!

For some reason, there is an 8900 that will not back up here. We just plug it in and it sits there. On the screen the two PC's with the arrow are displayed. It worked fine last week. Not sure what changed. Using DTM 4.7 on with a Rogers phone.

Anyone have any ideas?

First, try pulling the battery for 30 seconds on the 8900 before trying the backup again.

You might need to enter the device's password on the pc to gain access. Double check that there's not a dialogue box on the pc screen asking for this. The box may be hidden behind another open window.

You could also try disabling the password temporarily on the 8900 and re-trying the backup.

Did all that except for disabling the password. Gonna try now. Thanks!

Ok it has to be DTM. Just installed 4.7 to see if it works. Doesn't. Tried it on another PC with DTM 4.6 and it worked. Must be a problem with DTM on his PC.

Maybe try a different USB port on the pc, and a different USB cable altogether. And no connecting through a hub.

Did you install the version of DM with Roxio Media Manager? RMM has been known to cause headaches for some pc's. I'd use the control panel to completely remove any traces of DM, restart the pc, then download a fresh copy of DM 5.0 without RMM.
