Angry How do I create an IT Policy on BES 5 server so I can use IBM Sametime Mobile?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

We have recently setup a test BES 5 server to do R&D on...

I need to test that the IBM Sametime Mobile client will function correctly, however after connecting to our Sametime 8.0.2 server on my BB device and downloading the Sametime mobile client and then configuring it correctly, I cannot get it to connect...

I get a message stating "The Sametime server could not be reached. Please check connectivity settings and try again." error message...

After further reviewing the issue I saw that the Sametime mobile section of my Sametime browser admin states that I need an IT policy -

Automate provisioning of devices with BES:

Creating an IT Policy on the BES is required for automatic provisioning of devices. To create the IT Policy rule, click Generate, then Copy the multiline string value. In the BlackBerry Manager, enter the rule name 'SametimeMobile' of type 'Multiline String' and paste the multiline string value from this text area.

This was added to our production BES 4 server and works great, however I cannot figure out how this is added to a BES 5 server... Has anyone done this and can give me a clue?

Is this still required for BES 5 servers?

I know that other settings are correct as I have installed and have working the RIM Sametime Client on my BB device...

If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them....

Best regards,

paul
