Intellisync

Anyone know if there's an easier way to synchronize the BB with the PC? It seems like you have to do so much work to sync the computer with the Blackberry using Intellisync. With my old Palm, I could just push Hotsync. Now, I need to open the program, connect it, enter the password, and then start approving all of the changes that it "proposes".

Throughout the advance connections you can have it just sync and not ask you all that acceptance stuuf. That is just how you have it set up. It is there for your proection type thing in case you jack someting up. You can set it up for the handheld to win or the desktop to win as well and then promt you with any conflicts.

Synching should happen automatically when you connect the device if you check the PIM sync on connection option. As SmurfBerry mentioned, you can configure Intellisync so that it never prompts you, but just be warned that you're probably going to notice sync issues after it's too late. Dig around -- you just need to tweak some options...

By far the easiest method of synching is to do so wirelessly via BES 4.0. ;)

As for the password: if you have a password on your Blackberry it will ask for the password each time you sync. Otherwise the password would be pointless as someone could just connect your password-protected Blackberry to a desktop to sync and pull your data.

How is this hard? It connects, you click intellisync, and sync now. What the hell is so hard about that!?

I connect my berry and it syncs.. Nothing more to it. I do, however have to enter my password and I wish there was a work around for that.
Although I am glad that syncing requires a password on the desktop end, it would be nice if i could have my desktop save my password so that I don't have to enter it every time.

Thanks for the replies!

I guess you guys are right - it's one of those programs that looks like it can't do much, but with some human tweaking it can do a lot.

Pink: nothing "hard" about it, but when you are going back and forth to your desk at work and sync about 10 times a day, it can get annoying.
