Default set up gmail

I'm using a 8120, with no data plan, I installed mini opera and i'm able to use it in school and work, it's working fine, i can access gamil or hotmail with opera, everything ok

I installed gmail application, when i want to open it, it said that it require a working data connection (but i'm connected through WiFi)

what i should do to make it work.

You need a blackberry data plan.
MOST applications cannot run only via wi-fi.
