Default BB Message App vs BB email message app

Please Login to Remove!

What is the difference between the message app and the email message app?

I understand that the email one only gets email, but why have both?

If I do not want both, how do I get rid of the email one but still have my email dump to the message app.

also, if I hide an app, how do I unhide.

Thanks

Are you talking about the messages folder versus the individual BIS email account folders?

To un-hide an icon, bring up the menu and select show all. Then highlight the hidden icon, bring up the menu, and turn off hide.

Consider the email account icon a filtered view that shows only email for that particular account.

Dunno. Either you want both or you don't. It's not one-size-fits-all. Do what you want with them. Personally, I just use Messages. YMMV.

Keep in mind that PIN messages, saved browser requests, saved browser pages and some things only show up in Messages.

Hide the email icon.

I see the messages folder as the one-stop location for everything. You can, for example, enable call logging and set which calls (only missed calls, or all calls) to show. If you have a number if email accouunts, you can choose to use the messages folder rather than go to each email account folder. As takeshi says, you can use it however you want, or not at all.

Thank you all for the quick responses. This is my first BB and I have learned quite a bit from the forums here.

Welcome to the group.

My advice: Browse blackberryfaq.com, read the stickies at the tops of the forums, and play with the blackberry, working your way through all the menus and options.
