I'm new to the forum AND new to owning a blackberry. A friend of mine upgraded to a Droid and gave me his old one. I'm still trying to figure it out.

My question is simple I think, I just don't know how to keyword google search it. When I get an email, I ALSO get a text message. I don't want the text message and don't know how to shut it off.

Its not really two notifications, they are just being displayed as two. Go into your messages, use the bb button and choose options, then General Options, then scroll to SMS and Email Inboxes, change it from Combined to Separate.

I think more details are really needed. Is the duplicate really a text message. What icon do the duplicates have?
