Hi and thanx in advance to all that answer. I'm using opera mini 4.2 on my 9530. Everytime I try to download a video or podcast I get an error message that say this: invalid character in name.

I just started get this message. Never got it before. I usually use opera mini to download larger podcast that I can't download using the BB browser.

Any help or advice with this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you...

What file name are you saving the file as? I would call it "test" and save it like that. Then expand from that.

Hmm. just loaded up Opera Mini again and I guess you can choose the file name.

Where are you guys saving the downloaded content to? Media Card or Onboard memory?

Also what version of Opera Mini are you using?

I am saving to SD card. Would formatting the card, after saving your files of course, help in this case? I can't figure out if this a Blackberry issue or a Opera issue. Any thoughts are much appreciated! Sorry we are having problems but glad that at least I am not the only one! Are there any updates for Opera Mini 4.2 which is my version or even a newer version? I think Opera Mini 5.0 is in Beta testing should we give that a try? Thanks again!

Where are you saving the files on your Media Card? Try creating a folder on your media called "Opera" then try saving the file in there.

Also by latest version do you mean 4.2 or the 5.0 beta?

I am having the same problem and it seems to be all files larger than about 20 MB. Everything smaller seems to work ok.

The limit on downloadable file sizes is 2.9 MB, IIRC. And make sure you have a BlackBerry data plan as without it you cannot download.

Opera Mini bypasses the BIS limit. I've downloaded CB podcasts, and those range more then 20 MB.

I guess I should it again It's been a few weeks since I last used OM to download large files.
