Wirelessly posted

Them file types are for installation. You don't need DM to MOVE files. Make sure your card is in Mass Storage Mode. When you connect to your pc it will then show up as a removeable drive. Click into it and copy and paste.

arnoldice, why don't explain in more detail what you are trying to do.

Transfer downloads? Install applications, what?

Of course blackberry isnt a PC for crying out loud. What i am trying to transfer to the blackberry are applications from sites that even go as far as asking what model of blackberry i am using only for them to give me a file format that all blackberry dont support. To the best of my knowledge blackberry applications are either *ALX* or ALI file format. Wondering why these sites cant customize their blackberry downloads properly. I need help from you guys because my blackberry is really boring without games and interesting applications. The Blackberry internet service from my carrier is way to expensive. With these cope of problems, i am beginning to regret not buying a normal phone. Please guys i need your help seriously. Thanks

because .jad are for loading OTA with your blackberry browser, and are not meant to be downloaded via a PC.

And because, there are many applications that are designed for specific OS, which is why it will ask your model of device.

Options / About will tell what version of the OS is on your BlackBerry.

Send how?
Email? This is supposed to be open on your device.
Again, .jad are for loading via your blackberry and .alx for use with desktop manager.
MOST sites use .jad because its easier.

Try downloading these apps from the web sites directly to your BlackBerry via the web browser. Of course you need a BlackBerry data plan for this, and to use most of these apps.

facebook requires a Blackberry data plan to use, without it, you cant use it.

Thanks for telling me on time cos i have been killing myself to download facebook through the blackberry wap which is slow and always consumes all my airtime. But for instance when a download themes or other applicatons through my laptop browser, it comes as Cod or Jad and the Desktop manager refuses to install it on my laptop, I then copied it into my memory card and tried to open it but it then said unable to open file. That has been my main problem

Theres nothing you can do about it.
As said, most if not all the sites you are trying to download from are meant to be downloaded from the phone. They just don't have the files in the appropriate format to load via a PC.
As you don't have a data plan, there's nothing you can do either.
