Default Brazilian Sim Card for 8700

Please Login to Remove!

I finally got my 8700C phone unlocked. I am leaving for Brazil tomorrow and I will buy their local sim card. Would anyone know if they use GPRS in Brazil or only GSM? I would like to be able to check/send email using my 8700. Thanks in advance.

You won't be able to simply check/send e-mail with a local sim card, even if the area has GPRS. Chances are, the local SIM card is not going to have a Blackberry Data Plan on it, which would be required to use any type of data on the Blackberry.

Would you know if there's a way for me to find out if the local sim card in brazil supports a blackberry plan?

Find the provider online and e-mail them with a question.
