how can i delete the icon "Turn Wireless OFF" on the 7290 ??

The story as follows: When a user loses his BB then a thief can turn off the wireless and read all mails and contacts and i can't kill the handheld.

Also the IT-policy with "Password required" is not possible, because the CEO doesn't want to enter his password every time.


Who have a solution for this problem ??

As far as I know you can't remove that icon.
But you can create different policies. Assign one with no required pass for the CEO and require a pass for everyone else. He'll take the risk of a thief reading his data if he doesn't want to assign a password.

And after creating the necessary policies you can then hide the wireless Icon, its not much for someone that knows what they are doing but at least it could further deter someone who does not know what to do and is mainly just being nosey. Regardless I would send the kill command as soon as you know since again the odds are that someone steals it and does not take the time immediately to turn wireless off or remove the battery, so even if it is off the second you turn ot on to make whatever changes you want(such as turning the wireless off) the kill command would come right through and render it useless.

I don't believe you can hide that icon in particular.
I have tried on my unit in the past and the option to hide was not available.

Whoa! You're right! I just tried and I'm only able to move it.

You can't hide that icon. Nor can you hide the lock or tower.. I would love a clear screen, but alas you can't completely clear it.
