Also, if you have the latest version of Desktop Manager (v5) you can enable encryption for your backups: http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/468...2009170238.png
You just need to do two backups:
1) Desktop Manager backup of all files from BB "device memory".
2) Regular backup of all files from media card to your PC. You can use a batch file, a script, a backup program, choice is yours. The PC will see the media card as a removable drive.
You need to enable mass storage mode in your BB: Options -> Media Card http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/9364/11192009171114.png
A few tips before you install the Desktop Manager:
a) install the version without Roxio (Roxio can be a source of endless headaches), look for the installer "English w/o Media Manager".
b) during installation uncheck the option to include BB Automatic Update. If you include it then the following happens:
- a Windows startup process will be installed with no option to turn it off in DM's GUI
- Vendor.xml file will be automatically reloaded even if it was deliberately deleted, which makes upgrading the OS from another vendor impossible, ref: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...-xml-file.html
