Default 7520 Trackwheel not clicking anymore

Please Login to Remove!

I've had a 7520 for about a month now and the trackwheel no longer has that pronouced click when pushing it in. I can still push it and it still works, but no longer can I get that tactical feel from the push.

I'm sure nextel will cover the issue as a defect

Anybody else had this happen to their 7520?

I'm sure its covered under warranty. It doesn't happen very often, but it does happen.

have you heard of this happening before? design issue? or am I heavy-handed on the trackwheel?

There's no design issue. But as with any moving part, failure is possible. Also, the part may have been faulty to begin with. As I mentioned above, it happens from time to time, but not frequently.

When you get it replaced, try reducing the number of times you click the wheel. This can be accomplished by using the enter button instead (in most cases).

It happened to me. Nextel replaced the unit under warranty. Get it done ASAP, as it WILL get worse and eventually not work at all.

I work at a service center and I think I have only seen one or two in the year that I have been here. They should swap it out for you. The worse is you will have to wait a day to get your new one. We have to order them and they come in the next day. If you don't do it ASAP you won't be able to do anything accept use the keyboard to move around. That is no fun!!!

new BB will be here tomorrow. It only took 5 transfers and 20 minutes of my time, Nextel CS Dept > Moto Door-to-Door > Moto BB Dept > Nextel CS Mgr > Nextel BB Replacement Dept

It's amazing how stupid these companies can be, if the first moron at Nextel CS directed me in the correct direction it would have been so much easier.
