Default Quick Syncing Question - Please Help!!!

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have all my Contacts and Calendar on my BlackBerry. Long story short, I need to transfer everything over from my BlackBerry to my new Outlook account.

I am a bit wary of following the instructions I have read regarding using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and syncing from there. The reason is that they seem to imply that my BlackBerry will be overwritten with the data in my Outlook. What I want is for the opposite to happen. I want my (blank) Outlook to be filled with the Contacts and Calendar on my BlackBerry.

Please help!! I would so appreciate it if someone will help out a complete amateur with this. And please walk me through this step by step as I am not a BlackBerry pro like some of you guys out there! I am very worried about losing my data as it is all I have.

Thank you so much for your help!!

Outlook won't overwrite your BlackBerry unless you tell it to.
The default activity is 'Synchronization'. Your BB data will populate Outlook and your Outlook data will populate your BB.

Just make a backup using BlackBerry Desktop's backup/restore tool before you sync. If anything goes bad (which it likely won't) just restore from the backup.

Be sure that you set it up for one-way sync BB -> Outlook for both contacts and calendar and you'll be good.

Default synch issues

I'm having similar issues. Items appear on my BB that don't appear on my calendar and I don't know why. It is not picking up all the items when I synch. Anyone know why? I'm really frustrated with this.
