Default Synch ProblemBB World Edition to Outlook 2003

Please Login to Remove!

Please be patient, this is my first post to this forum.

I'm trying to synch my bosses BB World Edition phone (I think it's a 7130e) to Outlook 2003 on his laptop. All I want to do is synch the address book/contacts and calender between the two. Right now he has no data in Outlook, it's all in his phone.

I installed the BB Desktop manager software on his computer. I plugged in the phone using the USB cable. I clicked synch, got the screen on the BB showing the connection very briefly, and then it went back to the normal screen. Just in case it was a hardware problem, I switched out his USB cable with mine (I'm having no problems, but I've got a different model and use Outlook 2007.)

I uninstalled the desktop software and reinstalled it, and still nothing. At this point am at a loss. If anyone can shed some light, I'd be grateful.

EDIT: Disregard point 2. I see you said Outlook 2003.

EDIT #2: My only suggestion is to carefully go back through the sync configuration and make sure you didn't miss anything. Check the direction settings and make sure it is bi-directional and not computer to blackberry only. Do a 30-second battery pull on the blackberry, too.

1- I tend to assume you configured the sync settings in DM on the boss's computer, but gotta ask. You did, right?

2- What is the version of Outlook on the boss's computer? If 2002 or earlier, you need DM 4.2 SP2 or 3. But if it is old Outlook, I'm not even sure you would get as far as DM seeing it when you go to configure the sync settings.

I had all the synch settings set up.

I pulled the battery for 30 seconds, and that worked. Thanks!

Excellent! The battery pull is always the first thing to try. It fixes most weird behavior.
