The 8310 does display Video downloads such as Youtube in the browser. It will also run email sent videos. Depending on your OS and memory card, you can also have a full motion Vid Cam . the ATT standard OS load added this. Maybe Vodafone will also.
You did not mention the OS level or if this phone is new. I would try updating the OS and see if that clears the issue.
I dont see how you have an email message on the home screen unless the BB thinks its an Application. I dont see any method to put one there. Maybe the update will clear it.
